Investing for a better future

We’re on a mission to safeguard pollinators using our technology to create the most comprehensive pollinator database globally. Our aim is to facilitate well-informed decision-making that will benefit the planet’s biodiversity and the world’s food supply.

Without intervention, biodiversity will be lost due to climate change, chemical use and habitat loss. To intervene effectively, data is needed. Our low-cost, solar-powered and always on pollinator monitoring technology and data platform help the agri-food sector to improve food production, aid policymakers in strategic decision making and support organisations in demonstrating their commitment to environmental goals.

AgriSound is proud to work with a growing number of global partners to raise the profile of pollination monitoring and educate the public on the biodiversity benefits of healthy pollinator communities.

  • Rapidly increasing recognition of the need for real-time pollinator and biodiversity monitoring.

  • Rising ESG agenda requires organisations to have environmental metrics to access finance, meet regulations and consumer expectations.

  • With 75% of food crops being dependent on pollination, it is vital to protect pollinators to support the global food supply.

A shortage of pollinators

75% of food crops are dependent on insect pollinators. Yet bees and other pollinator numbers are declining annually.

Consumers are driving the need for new pollinator friendly farming practices, with retailers and governments restricting access to pesticides to support this.

Farmers need to understand where to target interventions to improve pollinator levels, whilst regulators require evidence for compliance.

Mapping pollinator activity using IOT

  • Audio data can detect pollinator levels in the field and indicators of productivity. Specialist algorithms interpret data to generate insight and reduce data transmission costs.

  • Sensor data is relayed via 2G, with migration to next-generation satellite connectivity underway to maximize coverage in rural areas.

  • Data is stored securely and made accessible via API and a dedicated user interface. Near real-time data supports decision making for targeted interventions to promote biodiversity for commercial gain

Value Proposition

  • Horticulture Sector & Landowners

Improving crop yields (>100% depending on crop type); improved crop quality (% fruit in Class I specification); access to biodiversity payments; alignment with buyer environmental criteria; ecological sustainability and positive PR with reputational benefits.

  • Brand owners

Direct evidence to support corporate ESG & sustainability targets; enhanced brand image and reputation; positive consumer engagement (PR).

  • Policymakers

Additional data to inform policy decision-making; increased ability to measure activity and outcomes.

  • Education

Data connecting the outdoor and indoor learning environments; direct action to educate future generations about the importance of pollinators and how students can protect biodiversity.
